Bio-Identical Hormones

Bio-Identical Hormones

Are Bio-Identical hormones exactly like what’s within a healthy and balanced individual?

Not based on n the opinions of numerous physicians!  “Bio-Identical hormones” seems to mean different things to different individuals.

bioidentical hormonesBioidentical hormones are hormones that have a compound composition that’s identical to the hormones that are created by our bodies.  Bio-Identical hormones have grown in popularity in recent times, partially due to movie star endorsements and partially in response to reviews of elevated health threats that may be posed by normal hormonal treatments.

Bio-Identical hormones are created within a lab.

Typically they are created from the different parts of plants, usually compounds obtained in soybeans or Mexican wild yams and they’re chemically the same as human bodily hormones, to fit precisely the formulation which a woman’s own body generates so that they are recognized by her body to be a naturally occurring substance, and thus be used by the body in a natural and non-intrusive manner.

Suzanne Somers introduced an incredible number of women to bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and transformed the way in which we look at menopause with her revolutionary book,  “The Sexy Years.” Her book got a tremendous amount of media attention.

When you compare bio-identical hormones to their pharmaceutically created artificial hormone types, the studies show that very frequently the results obtained by each is completely different.  This along with the total distrust and frustration that many holistic practitioners feel towards the FDA has caused a pretty fiery debate on the safety of these bio identical hormones. So as one may have anticipated, the use of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) vs . prescription-based HRT prescription drugs has prompted a large amount of consumer attention, in addition to hot debate.

Studies done in Europe suggest that indeed, bio-Identical hormones are less dangerous than artificial variations. Keep in mind that they’re all risk to all types of supplements and medications.

“BHRT” is really a marketing and advertising phrase not a medical procedure acknowledged by Food and drug administration. The companies and individuals that sell “bioidentical” hormones frequently report that their items are the same as human hormones created by our bodies. Because of this fact they claim that these “all-natural” supplements, ointments, creams, and skin gels are devoid of the hazards of drug treatments o that have been kayed by Food and drug administration for menopausal hormone treatments (MHT).

There are those who claim that the the Food and drug administration is running a scare campaign about bio identical hormones, to eliminate women’s accessibility to to the natural compounds that cannot be patented and thus sold for huge profits by large pharmaceutical companies. Many claim that this is simply the most recent measures in a very lengthy history of criminal activities pursued by way of the Food and drug administration in an effort to secure the profits for big Pharma. In addition to this claim with many who feel that the FDA is a protection agency not for the people but for pharmaceutical corporations often referred to the routine censorship of scientific data supporting the health advantages of  natural supplements .

There are many supporters of holistic medicine claiming that the FDA’s attacks on organic supplements and treatments usually are not determined by science or  safety , there solely based upon a very important factor:  Safeguarding the earnings of  Large Pharma  .

Despite which the argument you fall on this important to keep in mind that medical professionals presently advise against any type of long-term hormone therapies for the symptoms of menopause.

Up until recently, compounded bio-Identical estrogen products and solutions weren’t overseen through the FDA. This has changed now, as the Food and drug administration will carry out reviews for purity, medication dosage, reliability and require compounding pharmacologist to perform obligatory reporting on these items.

A lot of women encounter estrogen dominance a common condition in which a woman may have too much estrogen, with very little if any progesterone to balance its effects within their bodies. There are  3 forms of estrogen created within the body: estriol, estrone, and estradiol.

Progesterone is a anabolic steroid hormone produced by the ovaries  about the middle of the menstruation  period.  Progesterone is regarded as the most widely used bio-Identical hormone, with more than 30 years of usage in the USA.

Women in a study conducted of women that were using bioidential progesterone 10% had a reduction in the potential risk of cancer of the breast, as opposed to the women using the artificial Progestin they showed a 40% rise in the potential risk of breast cancers. The main difference between bio identical progesterone and Progestin is that in a form suitable for production of Progestin equine hormonal compounds are used in addition to plant compounds which causes the structure of molecules to dissimilar from those produced within our bodies. This was done mainly because it is the only way that a hormonal compound could be patented and thus sold my pharmaceutical company for profit!

Bear in mind that it’s by no means a smart idea to take any human hormones without having first being examined so that you could make sure which human hormones if any, your system would need to attain stability and overall wellbeing.

In summary, bio-Identical hormones utilized at appropriate levels appear to be safe, efficient, and a good choice when hormonal supplementation is required to improve and maintain your overall health.

Brief History: Bioidentical hormones were first used for menopausal symptom relief in the 1930s,[1] after Canadian researcher James Collip developed a method to extract an orally-active estrogen from the urine of pregnant women and marketed it as the active agent in a product called Emmenin.[Source; http://en.wikipedia.org]

Just read the above information and am a Breast Cancer Survivor of 10 years. I am still experiencing Menopause symptoms after Chemotherapy Treatment at that time. Would love to sleep well again and wouldn’t miss the Hot Flashes amongst other things. Would BHRT be something I could use given my history.?

Undergoing prolonged treatment of hormone replacement therapy heightens the risk of developing breast cancer in women, apart from increasing breast density too. Increased bone density can obstruct mammograms that can make the detection of breast cancer difficult at times. However, the chance of increased density is caused mainly by women taking oral progestin alongside estrogen.please click here:http://www.heart-consult.com/articles/hormone-replacement-therapy-and-cardio-vascular-diseases
